Bob Moricz is a self-taught filmmaker and musician based in Portland, Oregon. As a latch key kid, he began making films in 1983 while attending elementary school. He writes, produces, directs, edits, acts, and composes music for his motion pictures, working primarily with Super 8mm film and digital video.
With the help of 3 guest directors, 5 cinematographers, and a cast of 56 actors, Bob shot and directed the feature length soap opera PALACE OF STAINS in one single day. The event was documented in the film, Happy Birthday, Bob: Behind the Stains. He also shot, directed, and edited a music video for the Xiu Xiu song "Bog People", which can be found on the la foret cd, as well as an upcoming DVD collection of Xiu Xiu videos.
Bob has made over 30 films and videos to date.
The Headquarters for the Arts in Sacramento held a retrospective of his films in 2005.
Today Bob is busy editing and composing soundtracks for four new films. He is also developing a stage musical and a local public access television show. |
